Howdy, everyone! We’ve got some updates regarding the Gopherdon apps and the server that you’ll want to listen in on:
Golden Master 2 release
We’ve released the second Golden Master release of the Gopherdon apps for desktop today. The Golden Master should reflect the feature set of the stable apps for Gopherdon when they come out later this month.
These changes pull in the upstream changes from Hyperspace v1.0.1 and v1.0.2:
- Fixes an issue where the login might fail after clicking “Authorize”.
- Fixes an issue where valid instances would be marked as invalid by accident
- Fixes an issue where the context menu on reblogged posts had an outline
- Fixes an issue where the release channels in the About page always were listed as “Release”
Additionally, this fixes an issue where the events loading spinner was misplaced.
Server updates
We’ve also updated the Mastodon software on the Gopherdon server to v3.0.1. This primarily contains bug fixes and other small changes; you can check out the release notes here.
Mastodon 3.0 contains many great features that the Gopherdon apps will take advantage of soon, including (but not limited to):
- Views for trending hashtags
- Better anti-harassment tools
- Support for uploading audio
More information on what’s coming to the Gopherdon app as a whole can be found on the blog post from the Hyperspace team about this:
Besides these features, there’s one particular feature for the first beta that we think you’ll love (we do, too). Since Mastodon 3.0 has been released, apps can access the profile directory and trending hashtags. Because of this, we’ve taken a look and have created a new section of the app called Activity that will let you see what’s trending on your instance, who’s been active, and who just signed up.
Here’s a sneak peek at this new Activity page:
Stay tuned for the stable release of the Gopherdon apps!
