Our response to the Fall 2020 announcement (and what it means for Gopherdon)

Written by Marquis Kurt on July 31, 2020

We are deeply saddened by the news President Deveraux presented this morning regarding the campus plans for the Fall 2020 semester, given the current state of the world and the ongoing pandemic. From the Gopherdon moderation team, we will definitely miss seeing your faces for the fall semester as we continue to make Gopherdon a great place for the Goucher Community. We respect the college’s decision to promptly go online as COVID-19 cases continue to rise, and we will adapt accordingly to better suit the Goucher community.

We strongly believe that keeping and making connections is important, especially with growth of online services to keep in contact with others while the COVID-19 crisis continues. We strive to make Gopherdon an ideal, accessible, and free place for sharing ideas and interacting with the Goucher community. We continue to build upon the fundamental values of making a place dedicated to the Goucher community, run by Goucher students, and championing the importance of a decentralized internet. While we may not see each other for the Fall 2020 semester, I’d like to share with you what we’re planning to do to keep Gopherdon a lively, well-maintained service during this time.

We’d also like to remind you that we’re not far away if you need to reach us for questions. You can email us at gopherdonapp@outlook.com or message one of the moderation team’s members in Gopherdon directly.

On the behalf of the Gopherdon team, I’d like to thank you for trying out and choosing Gopherdon, and we hope to return to campus with all of you in the future.
